🤝ICE delegation - let the experts maximize returns

Overview

Aquarius ICE delegation system is created to let ICE holders transfer their tokens to trusted delegates. The delegates will vote on their behalf following a selected strategy so the holders won't have to care about utilizing their voting power.

This feature pursues 3 major goals:

  • Improve the UX and maximize returns for ICE holders

  • Increase ICE utilization and reduce the amount of unused voting power

  • Provide extra source of income for active protocol users

Being a Delegator

A delegator is someone who delegates their ICE.

  • Anyone who holds ICE can become a delegator

  • A delegator can delegate ICE to multiple delegates

  • A delegator can withdraw their ICE at any time after a 24-hour period since delegation

  • If a delegate votes for a market with bribes, these bribes will be sent directly to the delegator

  • A delegator can delegate their ICE to either a delegate whitelisted (recommended) by Aquarius chosen from the interface or to a custom delegate (any address) of their choice

  • A delegator can then monitor the activity of the selected delegate(s) in the Aquarius interface

Being a Delegate

A delegate is someone that users delegate their ICE to, and votes for the markets on users' behalf.

  • To become a whitelisted delegate one has to apply using the form

  • If the Aquarius team considers the delegate suitable for the role they will manually add it to the list

  • Every whitelisted delegate will have their dedicated Discord chat on the Aquarius server

  • Nevertheless, anyone can become a delegate since a delegator can delegate to any Stellar address

  • Once someone delegates their ICE to a delegate, respected amount of dICE tokens is minted for the delegate's balance

  • A delegate is encouraged to use all the delegated ICE for voting. Unused dICE will show up in the delegate's activity on the interface.

  • Aquarius team can disqualify a delegate that is consistently underperforming
